I’ve been having a lot of trouble with, not so much writers block, but just an entire lack of what I believe is quality in my writing. It’s lacking something that used to be there in droves, and so I’m sort of doing some grieving for that elusive ‘thing’ at the moment. You hear sometimes that writers need to be

Missing Out is floating at about 10k right now. My word count slows down hugely while hubby works, which he is at the moment, but I should get a decent amount of words out tonight as he switches from day shifts to nights and has a 24 hour break between. I’m lucky. My husband works 4 days, then has 4

Sometimes all you need is a little confidence boost when previously you’re thinking all your writing is arse. That’s pretty much where I was, but I have a few great girls that read my rubbish first drafts and encourage me in just the right way to get me writing again. I pumped out 3k yesterday, another 500 words this morning

My bloggers block of late goes nicely with my new writers block. Sigh. It’s getting so bad I’m scouring the web for blogging prompts. I came across this one tonight, and on my second click received this prompt: Is writing a form of self therapy? So I’m going to file that away and use it another day, because yes, for me it

My friend Becca gave me a picture prompt and told me to write 200 words. Well, I wrote 502 words, but managed to get it down to 250. He wears only a pair of candy pink undies. “Can’t sleep,” he says, taking a step toward me. I look down at my filling cock and face the kitchen counter to hide

Two days left of NaNoWriMo, and I’ve stopped writing. I’ve already won, I’ve completed two separate stories, and it’s not going to kill me to step away from the pen and paper for these last couple days. I’m not running off to catch up on the housework I’ve neglected over the last month, however. I’m going to spend the time

Just hit 50k and validated. I’m a winner again, yay. And I’m bloody exhausted :) But I’m gonna keep writing. Even though I’ve finished my novel and done my word count, I have that unfinished thing still to finish. Hoping I can do that by the 30th :) For posterity:
The story, anyway. I finished the epilogue today at around 44k. Which, of course, left me with around 6k to do to reach the NaNoWriMo minimum of 50k. So I picked up an unfinished thing (I have dozens lying around) and found it very easy to get back into. So I’ve added another 3k to it, which leaves me with

Story research takes me to some strange places. I’m usually a little afraid someone’s gonna see my google search history. Luckily, for this NaNo, my google searches and youtube playlists are fairly innocuous. My novel is set in Raglan, New Zealand, and my cast consists of surfers, so I’ve been hanging out on youtube a bit watching surfing footage specific
